Job summary

Perplexity is seeking an experienced Billing Operations Manager to lead the enterprise billing lifecycle within our Finance and Accounting team in San Francisco. You will translate complex agreements into accurate invoices and build scalable processes to support growth.

This hands-on role partners with Deal Desk, Enterprise Sales, Legal and Customer Success to ensure timely billing, resolve discrepancies, and enable renewals. Strong SaaS billing and systems experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years in billing operations and order-to-cash, including enterprise SaaS/subscription billing.
• Ability to interpret complex customer agreements into billing schedules, invoices, and adjustments.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Salesforce and billing platforms; investigate issues across systems.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable, deferred revenue, and ASC 606.
• Resourceful, detail-oriented problem solver.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise and reseller billing: Own enterprise billing operations from setup through invoicing, renewals, amendments, and cancellations.
• Contract review: Review nonstandard terms with Sales/Deal Desk; assess feasibility and route exceptions.
• Complex billing arrangements: Translate pricing and terms into billing configurations, including seat changes and prorations.
• Billing inquiries and disputes: Primary contact for billing questions; investigate discrepancies and coordinate credits.
• Reconciliations and close support: Reconcile data to billing output; support month-end close and audits.
• Integration management: Identify and resolve billing system integration failures.
• Customer Success and renewal support: Partner on renewals, expansions, and true-ups; analyze usage and billing changes.
