Job summary

OpenAI ITAV Deployment Engineer role involves delivering audiovisual systems for new offices and expansions, turning approved designs into installed, tested setups, and coordinating with ITAV, Network, Workplace Design, and Capital Builds teams.

You will configure conferencing endpoints, Q-SYS, and AV-over-IP, verify installations end to end, and prepare thorough handoff documentation for the receiving team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and commissioning enterprise AV systems.
• Ability to read AV signal-flow drawings and equipment schedules.
• Experience configuring conferencing hardware across Logitech, Cisco, Google Meet, Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
• Proficiency with Q-SYS audio and control systems and signal routing.
• Knowledge of AV-over-IP technologies (Q-LAN, Dante, NDI) and related troubleshooting.
• Networking basics: IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, multicast.
• Experience coordinating integrator work and project milestones.
• Ability to document acceptance and prepare configuration records for handoff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AV build packages for new offices and expansions.
• Coordinate ITAV workstream across construction projects, aligning requirements and schedules.
• Review drawings and equipment lists to identify prerequisites and raise design exceptions.
• Coordinate equipment staging, installation sequencing, vendor deliverables, and site access with integrators and partners.
• Configure conferencing endpoints, Q-SYS controls and AV-over-IP connections to match the approved design.
• Prepare device and port records and coordinate IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, and connectivity requirements.
• Commission rooms end to end, testing audio, video, control, conferencing, content sharing, monitoring, and recovery.
• Diagnose installation and integration failures, maintain a punch list, and retest fixes.
• Deliver configuration backups, as-built markups, inventory, test evidence, and handoff instructions.
• Identify repeatable deployment work and automate it using scripting and templates.
