Job summary

7 Brew Coffee seeks an experienced Enterprise Architect to define long-term technical direction, governance and roadmaps across cloud platforms, data, integrations, and security. You will partner with technology leaders, engineers, security teams, and vendors to translate business priorities into scalable architecture and practical implementations.

Responsibilities

WHAT'S BREWING IN THIS ROLE...

We're looking for an experienced, hands‑on Enterprise Architect who can bring clarity, discipline, and long‑term direction to a rapidly evolving technology ecosystem. As the highest‑level individual contributor in the Technology organization, you'll define how our platforms, applications, integrations, and data capabilities work together to support 7 Brew's continued growth.

You'll partner with technology leaders, engineers, security teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to translate business priorities into scalable architecture. This is not a role for someone who only produces diagrams or frameworks—you'll dig into complex systems, challenge assumptions, guide critical design decisions, and help teams move from strategy to practical implementation.

Our environment includes more than 50 applications and a cloud‑first integration landscape spanning Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Fabric, MuleSoft, NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, stand technology, and customer‑facing platforms. You'll help simplify that complexity while improving reliability, security, scalability, and speed.

• Enterprise Architecture Strategy: Define and maintain current‑state, transition‑state, and future‑state architecture across applications, integrations, data, cloud platforms, infrastructure, and security.
• Technology Roadmaps: Translate business strategy and growth plans into pragmatic multi‑year architecture roadmaps, investment priorities, and modernization initiatives.
• Architecture Governance: Establish lightweight standards, principles, reference architectures, and decision processes that improve consistency without slowing delivery.
• Solution Design: Lead architecture for high‑impact initiatives, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise direction.
• Integration Architecture: Guide API‑led, event‑driven, batch, file‑based, and middleware integration patterns across a broad ecosystem of enterprise and stand‑facing systems.
• Data Architecture: Partner with data and analytics teams to strengthen data movement, ownership, quality, lineage, governance, and access across GCP, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, and downstream reporting tools.
• Platform Rationalization: Evaluate application overlap, technical debt, architectural risk, and opportunities to simplify or consolidate the technology landscape.
• Security & Reliability: Embed security, privacy, identity, availability, disaster recovery, observability, and performance requirements into architectural decisions.
• Technology Evaluation: Assess platforms, vendors, and emerging technologies through structured trade‑off analysis, proof‑of‑concept work, and total‑cost‑of‑ownership thinking.
• Cross‑Functional Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to Technology and business leaders, connecting strategic needs with clear technical options and recommendations.
• Technical Leadership: Coach engineers and solution owners, facilitate architecture reviews, document key decisions, and raise architectural capability across the organization without relying on direct authority.
• Hands‑On Problem Solving: Step into ambiguous or high‑risk technical challenges, inspect designs and data flows, test assumptions, and help teams identify practical paths forward.

• Demonstrated success creating enterprise or solution architecture in a fast‑growing, distributed, or operationally complex organization.
• Ability to bring structure to environments where documentation, ownership, standards, or processes are still maturing.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to explain technical trade‑offs, risk, cost, and value to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Experience guiding architecture across cloud, applications, integrations, data, infrastructure, identity, and security domains.
• Deep understanding of integration patterns, APIs, event‑driven architecture, data platforms, and system‑of‑record design.
• Track record of influencing engineering teams, business leaders, and vendors without depending on positional authority.
• Strong judgment when balancing speed, scalability, technical debt, cost, security, and customer or operator experience.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
• Comfort working in an agile environment with shifting priorities, incomplete information, and a bias toward action.
• 10+ years of progressive technology experience, including 5+ years in enterprise, solution, platform, or integration architecture roles.
• Experience supporting high‑volume retail, restaurant, hospitality, consumer, franchise, or other multi‑location businesses is strongly preferred.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and modern distributed‑system design; Google Cloud Platform experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms and patterns, including APIs, webhooks, event streaming, middleware, SFTP, batch processing, and EDI.
• Working knowledge of data platforms and analytics architecture, including GCP, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, data warehouses, lakehouses, ETL/ELT, governance, and business intelligence.
• Experience architecting integrations across enterprise platforms such as NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, POS, loyalty, ERP, HCM, CRM, and supply‑chain systems.
• Understanding of identity and access management, zero‑trust principles, encryption, privacy, disaster recovery, monitoring, and secure software delivery.
• Ability to produce clear architecture diagrams, decision records, standards, roadmaps, and technical recommendations.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks and modeling methods is helpful, but practical application matters more than certification.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant cloud, security, or enterprise architecture certifications are preferred but not required.
