Job summary

Notion is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead hands-on delivery for enterprise customers, embedding with client teams to design and deploy Notion as the operating layer for their business. You will write production-grade code, build data pipelines, and resolve scale and governance challenges in complex environments.

You will become a trusted technical advisor, architecting solutions, running discovery, and delivering integrations that connect Notion with customers’ systems at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in customer-facing or forward deployed engineering or similar hands-on role.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Node.js, SQL, or Python and production-quality code writing.
• Hands-on experience with APIs and data integration.
• Ability to lead technical discovery with customers and scope technical work.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across code, APIs, permissions, and integrations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and business audiences.
• Track record of delivering customer value at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own hands-on technical delivery of customer engagements, including discovery, requirements, design, and end-to-end implementation.
• Act as trusted technical advisor, guiding architectural decisions and expanding Notion usage.
• Design, build, and operate custom agents, integrations, automations, and data pipelines.
• Lead large-scale content and data migrations from discovery to post-migration optimization.
• Collaborate with customer IT, security, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and plan execution.
• Troubleshoot complex implementations across APIs, integrations, and configuration.
• Translate real-world challenges into actionable engineering requirements and product improvements.
• Build reusable technical assets, tooling, and reference implementations.
• Help define services delivery methodologies and engineering best practices.
