Job summary

OpenAI's B2B Marketing team is seeking a Messaging Lead to shape how businesses understand OpenAI and the value of our portfolio. You'll craft an enterprise narrative, connect product stories, and explain how AI changes how people and organizations work.

You'll work with senior leaders and technical teams to turn difficult positioning decisions into clear, usable materials for customers, executives, and field teams. This is a senior IC role with potential to grow a team.

Qualifications

• 14+ years in B2B product marketing, positioning, or messaging.
• Proven ability to shape enterprise narratives for business audiences.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with demonstrable work.
• Ability to translate complex technology into clear stories.
• Experience presenting to senior executives and technical leaders.
• Narratives adopted by customer-facing teams and improved understanding.
• Hands-on, adaptable, and able to revise views with new evidence.
• Practical fluency with AI tools and judicious human review.
• Experience building or growing a messaging function is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the enterprise narrative and messages connecting products to needs and outcomes.
• Partner with product and industry marketers to differentiate the portfolio while preserving depth.
• Translate complex capabilities into precise stories with Product and Research.
• Develop core enterprise pitches, executive narratives, and major launch messages.
• Bring customer insight and competitive context into the story with GTM and Customer Marketing.
• Help apply the narrative across Marketing, Communications, and Enablement and refine it via feedback.
• Coach partners on messaging and help define function growth.
