OpenAI is seeking a Messaging Lead to shape how businesses understand OpenAI and the value of our portfolio. You will develop an enterprise narrative and connect product stories to it, working with senior leaders to translate complex capabilities into compelling stories for customers and executives.

The role is a senior individual contributor role with potential to lead a team as the function grows, collaborating across Product, Research, Sales, and Communications.

Qualifications

• 14+ years of experience in B2B product marketing, positioning, or messaging.

• Bring customer insight, competitive context, and credible proof into the story with GTM and Customer Marketing.
• Help Marketing, Communications, and Enablement apply the narrative, and improve it through customer feedback and testing.
• Coach partners on messaging and writing, and help define how the function should grow.

OpenAI's B2B Marketing team helps businesses understand, adopt, and get value from our products. We work closely with Product, Research, Sales, and Communications to connect advances in AI to the problems organizations are trying to solve.

About the Role

We're looking for a Messaging Lead to shape how businesses understand OpenAI and the value of our portfolio. You'll develop a clear enterprise narrative, connect individual product stories to it, and help explain how AI is changing the way people and organizations work. You'll work directly with senior leaders and technical teams to make difficult positioning decisions and turn them into work that customers, executives, and the field can use. You'll be a hands-on writer and editor as well as a strategic partner, responsible for the quality and coherence of our most important business stories. This is a senior individual contributor role, with the potential to build and lead a team as the function grows.

In this role, you will:
