Job summary

Ford Credit is seeking a Principal AI Architect to shape enterprise AI strategy, govern AI-enabled technology, and lead architects across AI, cloud, and security. The leader will craft target architectures, risk trade-offs, and practical roadmaps, translating strategy into actionable implementations.

This senior role requires executive judgment, production-grade AI experience, and managing a team of architects while driving reusable patterns and measurable improvements in delivery and risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of progressive technology experience, incl. 8+ years in architecture roles or enterprise decisions.
• Experience architecting and operating enterprise AI/ML systems in production.
• Deep cloud architecture experience on Google Cloud or comparable platform; strong security architecture expertise.

Responsibilities

• Define Ford Credit’s multi-year enterprise AI architecture strategy, target states, roadmaps, standards, and priorities.
• Establish an AI-native software delivery lifecycle with explicit specs, bounded execution, validation, and learning loops.
• Create reusable patterns for architecture manifests, contracts, and evidence bundles.
• Architect production agentic systems integrating models, tools, memory, orchestration, permissions, and recovery.
• Define autonomy, checkpoints, human oversight, and auditable decision trails for high-stakes actions.
• Guide modernization of hybrid and legacy systems with modular architectures and APIs.
