Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate scheduling of surgical and other procedures across operating rooms, physician offices, sedation, and hospital units. You will help ensure efficient practice operations by managing physician calendars and communicating with families, staff, and insurance providers.

Strong communication, attention to detail, and experience in healthcare are essential. Proficiency in MS Office and EPIC EMR is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical/medical environment is preferred.
• Experience working with physicians, nurses or other staff is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates process to schedule surgical and other procedures in operating room, physician office, sedation, and other hospital units.
• Manages physician schedules to support efficient practice operations.
• Communicates effectively with patients/families, physicians, hospital staff and others.
• Generates reports, letters and forms using computer systems.
• Provides administrative support for clinic and educational activities as directed.
• Other duties as required.
