Job summary

Texas ENT Specialists is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate all aspects of surgical procedures for patients. You will work closely with physicians, staff, insurers, and patients to schedule surgeries, secure financial clearance, and communicate details effectively.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with computer-based software, especially eClinicalWorks, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents verification of patient benefits, including network participation, out-of-pocket costs, and exclusions.
• Provides financial counseling to patients, including cost estimates, payment terms, and collection of payments.
• Collaborates with providers, clinic staff, and the Care/Business Office team to meet financial clearance requirements.
• Coordinates surgical planning and scheduling, including dates and pre-operative assessments.
• Acts as a liaison with ENT physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient care.
• Coordinates with hospitals or surgical centers for OR availability and equipment.
• Reviews medical policies to ensure documentation guidelines are met.
• Obtains pre-authorizations timely and records reference/authorization numbers.
• Accurately documents all communications.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks preferred along with Word and Excel.
