Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team. Under supervision, you will coordinate examination preparation, document patient history, obtain vitals, and assist with screenings and orders per AHN protocols.

You may perform back-office testing, prepare exam rooms, manage supplies, document in the EHR, and, when trained, serve as a scribe or provide follow-up communications. Travel between offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent required.
• Certification within 120 days of hire if applicable.
• Preferred: Associate's degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vitals and review patient history.
• Document in the EHR and update medication and social history.
• Assist with exams and procedures; administer and document medications.
• Perform back office testing and ensure proper inventory of supplies.
• May serve as a scribe with training; follow established protocols.
• May float between physician office locations as needed.
