Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the clinical team. Under supervision, you coordinate examinations, support patient care, and help with office workflows.

You will obtain vital signs, document patient information, review medication lists in the EHR, assist with procedures, prepare exam rooms, and maintain supplies. Some roles may require travel between AHN locations.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
• Certification within 120 days of hire; valid MA certifications accepted: NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA
• Preferred: Associate's Degree
• CPR - American Heart Association; background and child abuse clearances; FBI fingerprinting
• HIPAA compliance and company privacy policies

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of a health care provider
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs; document history and screening
• Review medication lists in the EHR and assist with orders when needed
• Perform back office testing and assist with examinations and procedures
• Serve as a scribe with training; document results and follow up with patient
• Prepare exam rooms; maintain inventory; stock supplies per policy
• Sterilize instruments and perform lab controls as assigned
• Document in the EHR and perform clerical duties as required
• May travel between AHN locations as needed
