Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will assist in coordinating examination planning, room patients, document vitals and histories, and update medication lists within the EHR. You may support with labs, sterilization, and back-office tasks as required.

The role involves following AHN protocols, charting accurately, and potentially serving as a scribe with additional training. A Medical Assistant program completion and CPR/clearances are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• May require certification within defined timelines after hire depending on program.
• Background and clearance checks required on employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of a provider.
• Prepare and room patients; obtain vital signs and document history.
• Review and update medication lists in the EHR.
• Assist with examinations and procedures; may act as a scribe with training.
• Perform lab tests and ensure proper instrument sterilization.
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical tasks as needed.
