Job summary

Hartford Public Schools seeks an Assistant Director of the Office of Enrollment & School Choice to provide leadership and operational oversight. The role translates district priorities into operating systems, with accountability and measurable outcomes across compliance, grants, and program implementation.

Responsibilities include cross‑functional coordination, staff coaching, and ensuring state reporting readiness.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred in Education, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum seven (7) years in enrollment, school operations, or related areas.
• Experience leading complex projects and coordinating across stakeholders.
• Knowledge of enrollment and School Choice operations and grants.
• Strong analytical, organizational, project-management, problem-solving, and written/interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish accountability systems and manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and district information systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Lead/Director in setting departmental priorities and operating plans.
• Provide management oversight for OESC initiatives, compliance, and program implementation.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, management controls, and service protocols.
• Coordinate cross-functional work with RSCO, CSDE, Finance, HR, Communications, IT, and other offices.
• Lead compliance, state reporting readiness, and grant activity.
• Plan magnet and Open Choice grant activities and monitor submissions.
• Monitor performance indicators, enrollment trends, and risk; report to leadership.
• Lead special projects and process improvements as assigned.
• Support enrollment and School Choice strategies to improve access and outcomes.
• Coach and evaluate staff; ensure professional growth.
• Represent OESC at meetings and district initiatives.
