Job summary

Hartford Public Schools is seeking a Community Specialist for the School Choice Office to support consumer engagement, recruitment, and marketing activities. The role involves informing families about the Hartford district’s application process and representing the office at community events.

The position supports the School Choice Office at the Welcome Center and collaborates with Hartford schools on open houses, data management, and promotional efforts.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in recruitment, marketing, or sales preferred
• Proficient with Internet and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Constant Contacts.
• Ability to multi-task

Responsibilities

• Organizes and attends recruitment events, fairs and information sessions.
• Responsible for one-to-one information sessions and recruitment of families.
• Provides administrative support to assist in the development of promotional materials, general mailings and other efforts to implement the marking plan.
• Maintains reports on customer/parent contacts and recruitment efforts.
• Maintains contact with interested families through the recruitment season.
• Works in collaboration with Hartford schools to develop open house activities.
• Develops and maintains a centralized calendar of recruitment activities and events.
• Updates mailing list for recruitment and maintains communication data base.
• Assist with maintenance of the Hartford schools’ websites.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.
