Job summary

The Fresh Air Fund is seeking an Enrollment Operations Associate to support the Enrollment team. You will assist families with the summer program applications, coordinate communications, and help manage inquiries from NYC parents and partners.

The role is part-time and occurs primarily in the NYC Office and in the field, with some remote work. It runs Nov 2026 through Mar 2027, with hours 9am–7pm and $18/hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfort speaking with families and professionals alike.
• Patient and friendly with a high degree of professionalism.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately.
• Bilingual abilities a plus (e.g. Spanish, Mandarin, ASL).

Responsibilities

• Assist with application review and completion processing.
• Review applications for children who may have additional needs or special circumstances.
• Communicate with parent/guardian and outreach partners regarding the application process.
• Assist parents to complete applications by contacting teachers or service providers.
• Manage a high volume of phone calls regarding summer programs, application process and child application status.
• Communicate and assist parents with completing applications in person and over the phone.
• Assist with conducting virtual/ in-person information and orientation sessions regarding summer programs.
• Prepare materials for community partners and recruitment events.
• Staff events and tabling at various agencies.
• Might require travelling to different boroughs within New York City by public transportation.
