Job summary

The Children's Home Society of New Jersey (CHSofNJ) is seeking an Enrollment & Family Intake Coordinator in Trenton, NJ to support enrollment and referrals for Head Start/Early Head Start programs. You will work with ERSEA specialists and family advocates to track applications and maintain timely communication with families.

Responsibilities include reviewing applications, coordinating recruitment events, and ensuring accurate data in ChildPlus and DataSay.

Qualifications

• ERSEA experience with Head Start/Early Head Start preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Formal ERSEA training.
• ERSEA Certification or Family Service Credential.
• Ability to engage diverse families and communities.
• Knowledge of Head Start Standards.
• Proficient in ChildPlus, Excel; ability to read and interpret data.
• Strong organizational, customer service, documentation and computer skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete Head Start/Early Head Start applications with required documentation.
• Follow up on incomplete applications and missing documentation.
• Monitor open and pending applications and maintain timely family communication.
• Return calls and answer questions about applications, enrollment and services.
• Assist families through the enrollment process with confidentiality and respectful service.
• Conduct recruitment and community outreach, including events and canvassing.
• Maintain active applicant pool, waitlist, full enrollment and timely vacancies.
• Assist ERSEA Specialist with tracking, waitlist management and enrollment follow-up.
• Review DataSay for referrals and monitor unassigned referrals.
• Maintain accurate information in ChildPlus, DataSay and other systems.
• Address family barriers and refer to appropriate resources.
• Coordinate annual recruitment calendar and staff assignments.
