Job summary

Essex County College is seeking an Admissions Specialist to serve as the primary admissions contact and guide prospective students through the admissions process.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with Welcome Center and Enrollment teams, manage admissions materials, and coordinate outreach activities both on campus and virtually. Requires experience in higher education and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in higher education or student services preferred.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary admissions contact for prospective students.
• Counsel and advise students through the admissions process.
• Attend and present at high schools, agencies, and events.
• Coordinate information sessions and enrollment events.
• Maintain admissions records and reporting in Banner/Recruit systems.
• Collaborate with faculty and student services on program requirements.
• Prepare routine admissions reports and analytics.
• Protect confidentiality of student information.
• Support recruitment activities and campus tours.
