AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Enrolled Agent/CPA to provide financial leadership across multiple client engagements in Tucson, AZ. You will act as Controller, oversee GAAP reporting, and drive process improvements while mentoring accounting staff.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and CPA preference. This role offers exposure to leadership and client-facing finance work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Controller and trusted financial advisor for multiple clients
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to leadership
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Oversee AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations
• Develop budgets and forecasts
• Strengthen internal controls and support annual audits
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Mentor accounting staff and maintain strong client relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with accounting software and financial management systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Public accounting, consulting, or outsourced accounting experience preferred
• CPA preferred; bilingual English/Spanish a plus
