Job summary

Union Square Cafe in New York City seeks a skilled sommelier to elevate our wine program and guest experience. You will work as a trusted partner with the Beverage Director and service team to ensure exceptional wine service and beverage knowledge across the dining room.

You will educate colleagues, suggest pairings, and help manage inventory while upholding Enlightened Hospitality. Minimum 2+ years in a sommelier role required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a sommelier or wine service role.
• Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• English fluency; additional languages preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Support Enlightened Hospitality culture.
• Collaborate with Beverage Director to build a compelling wine program.
• Guide guests with wine and beverage suggestions.
• Educate service staff on wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.
• Maintain a wine program that drives sales and aligns with inventory.
• Demonstrate flexibility and eagerness to learn and grow.
