Job summary

City Winery in New York City by Little Island seeks an experienced Sommelier to drive beverage sales and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will guide wine and beverage selections, educate guests, and support inventory management in a fast-paced setting.

The role is hourly plus commission, requiring depth of wine knowledge and a passion for hospitality. Candidates must be fluent in English and flexible to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years sommelier experience in a fast-paced restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of wine regions, Old World and New World.
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English with basic math for POS.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Recommend wine and beverage pairings to guests; upsell tableside offerings and retail wine.
• Keep staff informed of beverage changes on the wine list.
• Assist with monthly inventory and maintain a clean wine station.
• Provide warm, knowledgeable service and exceptional guest experiences.
