Job summary

ESL in Charlotte, NC seeks an English Learner (EL) Teacher to lead EL program delivery within Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. You will develop lessons, monitor student progress and serve as EL leader for school-wide LIEP implementation.

The role requires teaching certification, 10-month contract, and collaboration with staff to meet district goals and ensure equity in language development for all English Learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Create a culture of effectiveness by setting high standards and expectations for all students.
• Plan and implement an EL program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Attend Professional Learning Community (PLC) and staff meetings for data analysis and instructional planning.
