Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an English Learner (EL) Teacher to provide instruction with leadership in implementing school-wide LIEP for identified ELs. This 10‑month, full‑time role operates under moderate supervision within the school setting.

The EL teacher will plan lessons, supervise and evaluate students, and collaborate with administrators to align with state standards and district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan EL program of study meeting the needs of assigned students.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various methods.
• Assess student progress and maintain records for IEPs and 504 plans.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and administrators regarding student progress.
• Serve as EL leader for implementing school-wide LIEP for ELs.
• Administer tests and grade assignments as required by NC testing programs.
• Attend PLCs and staff meetings for data analysis and instructional planning.
