Job summary

Washoe County School District in Nevada is seeking an EL Paraeducator Assistant I at Stead Elementary to support English Learner students with individual and small-group instruction under the supervision of the EL teacher. You will help develop and maintain records and instructional materials for student learning.

Responsibilities include collaborating with instructional staff to improve language outcomes, assisting in language development, and creating a safe, positive classroom environment

Qualifications

• Completion of 48 semester hours or an associate's degree from an accredited college/university (preferably in child development, education, special education, or related field).
• AND one (1) year of relevant experience or,
• Option 2: High school diploma AND two (2) years of experience as a Paraeducator aide or in a similar instructional/guidance role.

Responsibilities

• Assists EL students with individual or small-group instruction under the EL teacher/facilitator.
• Develops and maintains records and instructional materials.
• Supports language development and access to grade-level content.
• Collaborates with instructional staff to improve language outcomes.

Education

48 semester hours

Associate's degree or higher
