Job summary

The Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant I to support English Language Development at Stead Elementary School. Under supervision, you will assist EL students with language development and academic tasks, while maintaining accurate records and instructional materials.

Responsibilities include adapting lessons, guiding small groups, and collaborating with EL staff to promote language growth and equitable access to learning. Experience with EL learners is desired.

Qualifications

• 48 semester hours or higher from an accredited college/university or an associate's degree or higher.
• ParaPathways reading/writing score ≥ 332 and math score ≥ 334, or
• ParaPro Assessment score ≥ 455.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials to support language development and access to grade-level content.
• Assists students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitors progress toward language objectives and provides feedback to staff.
• Collaborates with instructional staff to improve student language outcomes.
• Helps to instruct English learners and show language acquisition progress.

Education
