Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Paraeducator Assistant I for Stead Elementary School. You will support teachers, prepare lesson materials, and assist students in multiple instructional settings.

This 17-hour weekly, grant-funded role emphasizes classroom assistance and student supervision. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 48 semester hours or higher, and qualifying score on ParaPathways or ParaPro assessments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Title I qualification standards apply.
• Completion of 48 semester hours or an associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Passing ParaPathways with reading/writing 332+ and math 334+ or passing ParaPro with 455+.
• Experience or ability to assist in instructional activities in classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in a variety of classrooms and related areas.
• Prepare lesson outlines/plans and develop teaching aids.
• Present material using diverse teaching methods.
• Assist students individually or in groups with assignments.
• Prepare and grade examinations and help monitor progress.
• Maintain classrooms and prepare audio-visual equipment and materials.
