Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an English Learner (EL) Teacher to provide instructional leadership under supervision and serve as the EL leader for implementing the LIEP at the school. The role focuses on planning lessons to meet EL students’ needs and supporting teachers in aligning with Board policies.

You will supervise, monitor, and evaluate students, prepare materials, and collaborate with the principal to ensure high standards and student success across EL programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement an EL program of study that meets student needs.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using diverse teaching methods.
• Prepare classes and materials; show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain IEPs/504 plans.
• Attend PLCs and staff meetings to analyze data and plan instruction.
