Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools seeks an English Learner (EL) Teacher to provide instructional leadership and direct EL services across identified students. The role involves developing lesson plans, supervising student progress, and implementing the school-wide LIEP under principal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in teaching or equivalent.
  • Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC certification.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement NC Teaching Standards.
  • Support school administration in policy adherence and student behavior management.
  • Create a high-expectation classroom culture and effective EL instruction.
  • Plan EL program study to meet EL students' needs.
  • Instruct students individually and in groups using diverse methods.
  • Establish clear objectives and align lessons to standards.
  • Prepare materials and classroom for activities.
  • Administer and grade tests and assignments to assess progress.
  • Meet with parents to discuss student progress and needs.
