Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking an English Learner (EL) Teacher to lead EL instruction and implement the school‑wide LIEP for identified students. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and NC teaching certification, with duties including planning, assessing, and collaborating with staff to support EL learners.

The position is full‑time on a 10‑month calendar, reporting to the Principal, and located at the district’s premises in Charlotte, NC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Plan and implement EL program of study meeting student needs.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Maintain and document student progress and records for IEPs and 504 plans.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and collaborate with staff to support EL students.
