Job summary

Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) is seeking an ELD Teacher to support Multilingual Learners in collaboration with ESOL staff. You will deliver targeted English language development to K-12 ML students in small groups or individually, improving language proficiency and access to content.

You will lead instructional practices with ESOL Facilitators to provide feedback and elevate students’ English language development.

Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with ESL or Bilingual endorsement.
  • Minimum of two years' experience with Multilingual Learners preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The ELD Teacher is responsible for Multilingual Learners (ML) eligible for the GISD English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Program’s services in collaboration with local district and ESOL Program staff. The ELD teacher provides direct, targeted English language development instructional services to K-12 ML in small groups or with individual students to help increase their overall achievement. The ELD Teacher leads and models instructional practices with ESOL Program Facilitators to provide feedback and increase students’ quality of English language development and access to content.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid State of Michigan Teaching certificate required with either an English as a Second Language (NS) or Bilingual endorsement (Y*).
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience with Multilingual Learners (ML) preferred.
Pay Range:

$41,009.00 – $71,704.00 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Paid Time Off:
  • Sick days – 10
  • Personal Business days – 3
