Job summary

ABB in North America seeks an Engineering Tools Manager to lead a team of engineers and specialists delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective engineering solutions to product teams. You will plan, allocate resources, and drive continual improvement of processes to strengthen engineering and design capability.

This role focuses on Electrification Distribution Solutions in North America, collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, R&D and Manufacturing to meet contract targets and milestones

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or mathematics.
• At least 10 years’ experience in electrical distribution.
• Experience working with product engineering and/or engineering tools maintenance for the Electrical Distribution market.
• Experience using agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the engineering tools team with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.
• Ensure the projects/ operations value chain portfolio follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and that the projects are closed as per the contract specifications.
• Initiate, coordinate, driving, and overseeing continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering / design capability and efficiency, utilize agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time, and enhance functional safety and cybersecurity.
• Driving team performance to ensure that the deliverables are met on time and as per the set contract specifications and safety, cyber security, and quality requirements.
