Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking an Engineering Systems role onsite in North America. You will act as a design authority for a mid-complexity discipline, delivering projects on time while applying design thinking.

You will develop requirements for Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and SAP, and code using Visual Basic and C#. Collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP is essential, with occasional after-hours work for production support.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics.
3 years of experience with Project Engineering and Rules based Systems.
Skills in MS Office, Empower, HIRES, ePLAN, GPLM and/or SAP.
Enhanced knowledge of Low/Medium Voltage Motor Control Centers.
Working knowledge of SQL and general programming.
Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team.
Candidates must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity.
Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects cost-effectively.
Apply basic design thinking / design for excellence concepts.
Plan, organize, lead, and execute multiple projects with target delivery dates.
Develop user requirements, specifications, and structures for Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and SAP.
Design, code, test and implement programs using Visual Basic, VB.NET and C#.
Interact with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP to troubleshoot issues.
Enhance mechanical configurator code and tables for product lines.
Enhance electrical CAD tools for product lines and train users on engineering systems.
