Job summary

ABB is seeking an engineer to act as a design authority for a low to mid-complexity discipline within North America’s Electrification Distribution Solutions. You will lead small and large projects, write requirements, and develop software using VBA/VB.NET and C#.

You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP teams to troubleshoot and improve systems. You’ll also enhance CAD tools and engineering configurations, train users, and support production with occasional evenings or

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
3 years of experience with Project Engineering and Rules based Systems.
Working knowledge of SQL and general programming.
Experience with MS Office and the listed ERP tools (Empower, HIRES, ePLAN, GPLM, SAP).

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, lead, and execute multiple projects while meeting delivery dates.
Develop requirements and specs for Empower, Rulestream, ePLAN, GPLM, and SAP.
Design, code, test and implement programs using VB/VBA, VB.NET, and C#.
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, and SAP teams to resolve issues.
Train users and maintain engineering systems.
Some evenings and weekends may be required for production support.
