Job summary

Oatey is seeking a design-focused engineer to assist the development of new plumbing products, improve existing designs for cost efficiency, and ensure testing and proof‑of‑concept activities meet timelines and regulatory standards.

The role interfaces between the R&D team and production, creating models and drawings while coordinating with compliance, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate concepts and drive reliable product improvements.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and apparatus for testing and validating designs.
• PC computer proficiency with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Engineering Team to understand product requirements and develop test methods for proving product designs.
• Conduct tests to ensure feasibility of product concepts and production parts.
• Collaborate with Compliance, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and Sourcing to execute the design test validation plan in Stage Gate.
• Assist Engineering Team on feasibility and early development phases to test and gather recommendations.
• Prepare technical drawing library and review current drawings.
• Work with vendors and consultants to create and test prototypes of new devices and design changes.
• Other duties as assigned.
