Job summary

Oatey is seeking a design-focused engineer to assist the team in developing new products, improving existing designs for cost efficiency and reliability, and ensuring testing and proof-of-concept activities are completed on time.

The role interfaces between R&D and the production floor for prototypes, creates models and drawings, and collaborates with Compliance, Manufacturing and Sourcing to execute design validation plans.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and testing/validation.
• Proficient with SolidWorks and MS Office.
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams to meet timelines.
• Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with Engineering Team to understand product requirements and develop test methods.
• Conduct tests to validate concept feasibility and production parts.
• Collaborate with Compliance, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality and Sourcing to execute validation plans.
• Support feasibility and early development projects by testing and providing design recommendations.
• Prepare technical drawing library and review drawings.
• Develop prototypes with internal and external vendors for new devices and design changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
