Job summary

Terracon Consultants, Inc. is seeking a entry-level Field Technician to perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel at project sites in Greenville, SC.

You will work under supervision, document findings, prepare reports, maintain equipment, and support safety and quality standards while advancing in responsibilities as you gain certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months experience required.
• A valid driver's license may be required.
• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel).
• Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client/contractor representatives regarding requirements and results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with identifying documentation for testing and analysis.
• Prepare data and observations in written and digital reports for daily submittal to the Terracon Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas; assist with scheduling and dispatch as needed.
• Adhere to strict safety standards and follow pre-task planning.
