Job summary

The State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician I (S) in the Goldsboro Construction Resident Engineer’s Office. This role supports engineers through construction inspection, surveying, materials testing, materials sampling, erosion control inspection, and traffic control audits on assigned projects.

Responsibilities include data collection and analysis, review and interpretation of design plans, and maintaining daily records.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining standard daily records and reports.
• Knowledge of standards and specifications and plan reading experience.
• Knowledge of general concepts, practices, and theories used in construction, construction inspection, and/or construction surveying.

Responsibilities

• Inspect for compliance and/or code; collect and analyze field data.
• Test materials; review and interpret design plans.
• Analyze engineering-related data and/or product data.
• Perform construction layout, measuring, staking, marking, and clearing brush.
