Job summary

Terracon in Midland, TX is seeking an entry-level Field/Lab Technician to perform field and/or laboratory testing of construction materials and to observe and inspect projects. You will prepare data and submit reports to the Project Manager, and maintain equipment and safety standards.

Under supervision, you will assist with scheduling, drive company vehicles, and help ensure quality control on multiple sites. A high school diploma and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel).
• Communicate with Project Manager and others regarding site requirements and testing results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for testing and analysis.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas.
• Adhere to strict safety standards.
