Public Utilities seeks a conscientious, energetic leader with experience in underground utility locating and construction projects to lead a dedicated group of professional utility locators, construction inspectors, and cross-connection inspectors. A successful candidate must be able to make sound engineering decisions based on contract documents, design standards, and local, state & federal laws; clearly communicate with project engineers and contractors to support the completion of projects on schedule and within budget; develop and maintain professional relationships with the public, various City departments to include the City Manager and City Council, external agencies, and regulators.

VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Depending on position, State and/or City certification(s) may be required. Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the City’s driving standards.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of three years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
