Job summary

ECOLAB invites engineering students to join our summer 2027 Engineering Technical Sales Intern program. You will perform independent projects, learn water treatment applications, and support field service while building cross‑functional relationships with sales teams.

HQ‑level mentorship, safety training, and hands‑on problem solving accompany a pathway to a potential full‑time Associate District Representative role after graduation. Hybrid work and relocation benefits may apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergraduate degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Industrial).
• Graduating in December 2027 or Summer 2028.
• Immigration sponsorship not available for this role.
• 11-week paid internship program, starting on Tuesday, June 1st.
• Position requires a valid US Driver's License and acceptable motor vehicle record and access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Complete independent project(s) under primary trainer's direction to yield calculated ROI.
• Complete safety training and technical lessons related to water treatment applications.
• Observe and participate in service to customers to ensure accurate chemical application and documentation.
• Complete introductory training of the consultative sales approach.
• Visit multiple customer sites across the region (40-100% in field) to learn best practices and unit applications.
• Build relationships with departments and personnel critical to success in the field.
• Work within regional sales districts to gain technical knowledge and sales experience while supporting customers’ sustainability goals.
• Provide routine service support to Sales Representative; testing may include Boilers, Cooling towers, Closed loops, RO and filtration.
