Job summary

Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance, guest service calls, and general repairs throughout a resort setting.

The role requires up to 1 year of maintenance experience, a High School Diploma, and solid English communication. You will work with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and in-room tech devices, using tools and HotSOS while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Up to 1 year of maintenance/engineering experience in a resort or commercial setting.
  • Good communication in English.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventive maintenance, guest service calls, engineering projects, and general repairs (painting, caulking, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and electronic issues, including basic component replacements.
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot TVs, remotes, and other in-room tech devices.
  • Assist with inventory checks and ensure materials, parts, and tools are available.
  • Use hand/power tools and HotSOS safely and effectively, including working at heights with proper PPE.
  • Identify hazards, follow safety protocols, and comply with all resort policies and procedures.
  • Interact positively with guests and staff, maintain a professional appearance, and support resort leadership with assigned tasks.

Job Description
As an Maintenance Technician I, you will:
  • Complete preventive maintenance, guest service calls, engineering projects, and general repairs (painting, caulking, plumbing, electrical, etc.).

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Up to 1 year of experience in Engineering/Maintenance/Trades operations within a resort or commercial environment.
  • Must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • Must be detail-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various tasks, perform effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
