Job summary

Westgate Palace Resort in Orlando, FL is seeking an Engineering Tech II to perform maintenance projects, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to support resort operations. You will handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance repairs, while ensuring safety and guest satisfaction.

The role requires 1–3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a resort environment, a valid driver’s license, and a CPO license if required by the resort. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1–3 years hands-on maintenance experience in a resort or commercial environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license as required by the resort.
  • Written and verbal English communication expected.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
  • Strong communication skills for guest and colleague interactions.
  • Versatile, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Lift/move up to 50+ pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues, repairs, and replace fixtures and piping as needed.
  • Diagnose, replace, and repair minor electrical components such as receptacles and ballasts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair appliances and household fixtures.
  • Understand HVAC systems and perform basic preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Repair interior and exterior walls, wall coverings, and ceilings, including texturing, painting, and caulking.
  • Repair or replace tiles, grout, vinyl, and carpet as required.
  • Work with pools, spas, and water features, including chemical balancing and cleaning tasks.
  • Participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available.
  • Operate resort devices/software (HotSOS and others).
  • Communicate professionally via radios, phones, emails, and in person.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by management.
  • Use hand/power/battery tools safely and effectively.
  • Work from ladders/scaffolding/lifts with proper PPE and safety guidelines.
  • Identify potential safety hazards on property.
  • Represent Westgate Resorts professionally in appearance and behavior.

Job Description

Supports resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.

As an Engineering Tech II, you will,

  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools required for the job.
  • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Follow safety guidelines and practices.
  • Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property.
  • Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution.
  • Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator) license as required by the resort.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
  • Strong communication skills required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
  • Must communicate effectively with supervisors and resort leadership.
