Job summary

Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort in Kissimmee, FL, is seeking an Engineering Tech I to support resort operations through maintenance projects, preventive tasks, and work orders. You’ll embody Westgate’s values of Passion, Integrity, and Work Ethic with guests and team members.

Pay rate is $17/hour with DailyPay access. Candidates should be prepared to perform painting, plumbing, electrical, TV installation, and general maintenance while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus.
  • Strong communication skills to excel with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 50+ pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
  • Provide general support by painting, caulking, and wall repairs.
  • Conduct basic plumbing diagnostics on toilets, bathtubs, jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks, including unclogging.
  • Reset breakers and GFCIs, replace light bulbs, and measure voltage with tools.
  • Install/replace TVs, troubleshoot and program remotes and devices.
  • Diagnose appliances, replace minor components, and assist with complete replacements as needed.
  • Participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are on-site.
  • Operate resort operations devices and software (HotSOS).
  • Communicate professionally via radios, phones, emails, and verbally.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management.
  • Use hand/power tools and PPE safely.
  • Work on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and PPE as needed.
  • Follow safety guidelines and identify potential hazards.
  • Represent Westgate Resorts professionally in appearance and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.

As an Engineering Tech I, you will:

  • Actively participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available on-site.
  • Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems).
  • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools needed for the job.
  • Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Follow safety guidelines and practices.
  • Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property.
  • Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution.
  • Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership.

What You Will Bring:

  • Must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership
  • Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
