Job summary

Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort is hiring an Engineering Tech 1 to support resort operations with maintenance tasks, preventive work, and guest-facing service. You will perform projects, basic repairs, and equipment diagnostics while upholding safety and company policies.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma, up to one year in maintenance, and strong English communication. Expected to work on-site with hands-on responsibilities, using tools and proper PPE as part of a team focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 0–1 year maintenance experience in a resort or commercial setting.
• Written and verbal English communication expected.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management.
• Provide general support by painting, caulking, and wall repairs.
• Conduct basic plumbing diagnostics on toilets, bathtubs, jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks.
• Reset breakers and GFCIs, replace light bulbs, and measure voltage with tools.
• Install/replace TVs, troubleshoot issues, and program remotes and devices.
• Diagnose appliances and assist with replacements as needed.
• Participate in procurement and inventory to ensure on-site materials.
• Operate resort devices and software (HotSOS).
• Communicate professionally via radios, phones, emails, and in person.

Job Description

Support resort operations by performing maintenance tasks, including projects, preventive maintenance, and work orders.

As an Engineering Tech 1, you will also,

• Perform engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes, and preventive maintenance as directed by resort management
• Provide general support by performing basic tasks such as painting, caulking, and wall repairs
• Conduct basic plumbing diagnostics on toilets, bathtubs, jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks, including unclogging
• Reset breakers and GFCIs, replace light bulbs, and measure available voltage using appropriate tools
• Install and/or replace TVs, troubleshoot issues, and program remote controls, TVs, and other electronic devices
• Diagnose appliances, replace minor components, and assist with complete replacements as needed
• Actively participate in procurement and inventory processes to ensure materials and tools are available on-site
• Operate resort operations devices and software effectively (HotSOS and other applicable systems)
• Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions
• Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as required by resort management
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools needed for the job
• Work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Follow safety guidelines and practices
• Recognize and identify potential safety hazards on the property
• Communicate and interpret guest needs through positive interactions toward resolution
• Adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures
• Always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior
• Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• 0 to 1 year of hands-on experience in trades and maintenance within a resort or commercial environment
• Written and verbal communication in English is expected
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with enthusiasm and focus
• Strong communication skills required to excel in interactions with guests and colleagues
• Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership
• Regularly, the team member must lift, move, push, or pull up to 50+ pounds.
