Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn invites applications for a Supervisor of Engineering – Brooklyn. This role oversees daily operations, projects, and maintenance staff, ensuring proper operation of hospital plant equipment and contributing to department continuity.

Responsibilities include supervising work orders, monitoring HVAC systems, boilers, generators, and building services; reading blueprints; and teaching trades. Requires COQ, NYCFD fitness, and substantial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 5 years related experience.
• Substantial experience on boilers, air conditioning and maintenance field.
• Q01 COQ Refrigeration Engineer required upon hire.
• NYCFD Certificates of Fitness G35, F36, S95, G17, S12-S14 required (if not present at hire, will have 45 days after hire to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as required.
• Supervise daily operations and maintenance staff.
• Distribution of work orders and check for completion.
• Monitor office computerized systems, HVAC, boilers, A/C units, alarms etc.
• Monitor and service fire alarm systems, and medical gases.
• Monitor, service and repair high and low pressure boilers.
• Monitor, service and repair emergency generators and Co-Gen.
• Teaching and training different trades.
• Supervise construction and painting projects.
• Monitor and keeps records of statement of conditions.
• Inspection and upkeep of all mechanical rooms.
• Capable to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics
