Job summary
The University of Iowa College of Engineering seeks an Academic Advisor and Recruitment Specialist to provide comprehensive academic advising and transition support to undergraduate engineering students, particularly first-year cohorts. You will assist with academic planning, navigation of university policies, and identify opportunities for student success.

Qualifications
- Two years of related experience in student recruitment, admissions, academic advising, retention, or related fields.
- Excellent communication and listening skills including writing and public speaking.
- Ability to work in a team and be self-directed.
- Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary academic advisor for a selected population of students.
- Advise on policies, programs, and academic planning.
- Document student interactions and advising activities in university systems.
- Identify students’ interests and goals and help develop academic plans.
- Promote College of Engineering programs and recruitment efforts.
- Deliver information sessions for prospective students and guests.
- Coordinate Student Ambassador program and PIE Living-Learning Community.
