Qualifications

  • Experience advising at a higher education level.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to engage diverse student populations with integrity.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google apps; knowledge of Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized academic advising to first-year and transfer engineering students on registration and degree requirements.
  • Monitor progress and connect students with resources for degree progress.
  • Review transcripts and apply transfer credits toward degree requirements.
  • Teach 1–2 sections of E 122: Engineering Student Success in spring.
  • Develop advising materials with department partners.
  • Support student programs, orientations, and First-Year Design Day.
  • Serve on committees and build partnerships to support goals.
