Job summary

American Water in the United States seeks an Engineering Project Manager to lead planning, design, bidding and construction management for water and wastewater projects. You will manage multiple projects through an extended team, delivering capital investments that impact production, networks, and operations.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in PM/CM or related field (or equivalent experience); PMP/EIT preferred. Travel up to 20%. Competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in PM or CM; relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree.
• With no bachelor's, minimum 10+ years in project management on engineering projects.
• Water/wastewater experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of technical, bidding and contractual documents for capital projects.
• Prepare planning reports and data-management projects for water/wastewater systems.
• Foster relationships with engineering firms, vendors and contractors.
• Coordinate with field and contract personnel to ensure timely completion within budget.
• Ensure scope and quality meet design concepts and company standards.
• Establish budgets and schedules; monitor delivery metrics and procurement approaches.
• Manage multiple projects and varied assignments in planning, design or construction.
• Develop technical information into feasible project approaches.
