Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a seasoned Engineering leader to design and manage critical plant projects. You will develop engineering designs, specs and cost estimates, while coordinating with vendors, contractors, and plant teams to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5+ years in the field, and at least 2 years in a leadership position with strong communication and PM skills. Expect 50% travel to support multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field; 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years in a leadership role with team development.
• Apply engineering principles to operational and design issues.
• Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
• PM and contract administration skills; interpretation of national codes and standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering solutions, prepare specs, cost estimates, and feasibility analyses.
• Direct vendors and contractors; coordinate with plant personnel and schedules.
• Review submissions for accuracy; ensure standards and codes compliance.
• Prepare project documentation and monitor budgets; report progress to management.
• Lead and develop the team; foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
