Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking an experienced engineering project manager to drive design, implementation and oversight of multi-location projects. You will develop designs, specs, and cost estimates while coordinating with vendors, contractors and plant personnel to ensure on-time delivery and budget adherence.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with 5+ years in engineering and 2+ years in leadership, plus strong PM, contract administration, and scheduling knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues.
• Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
• Project management and contract administration skills; interpretation of national codes and standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, teamwork and adaptability.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering designs, material specs, and project cost estimates.
• Coordinate project execution with plant personnel, vendors, and contractors; manage schedules.
• Review engineering submissions for accuracy and completeness.
• Plan, review and prepare proposals; define scope and reports.
• Manage contract administration, bid reviews, and project documentation.
• Lead and coach team members to drive a positive employee experience.
