Job summary

South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a program management professional to assist with major highway construction projects in the CHATS/BCDCOG region. You will help develop projects, monitor schedules, and manage resources under supervision.

The role emphasizes coordination with utility coordination, consultant contracts, and public interactions while supporting in risk and schedule management. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
• Three (3) years of engineering or construction management work experience.
• A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing a major highway construction program with multiple projects.
• Direct development of projects and monitor compliance with schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with local Construction Teams and stakeholders to ensure program milestones are met.
• Support development of C-Program projects and coordination with State Utility Engineer.
• Assist Sr. Assistant Program Manager in the Project Development Process and work toward independent contribution.
• Represent the department in meetings, communicate effectively, and handle administrative tasks as assigned.
